Dollar Tree !!

have you ever buy something for party, for school office, for kitchen table wear .....with one dollar for each item? I mean that everything all one dollar. Sound unbelievable but it does exist in Austin everywhere. everything is one dollar and nothing more than one even if you buy a bottle of lotion, makeup, ... it is a very great idea to have DOLLAR TREE in Austin because we can buy as much as we want to and we save a lot of money to buy somewhere else. although the quality of products is not good for us to use lotion, hair conditioner.., we can buy some thing that just use one time such as napkin, plastic cup, plastic flowers, toys ..... these thing we can buy at dollar tree.

Austin people who have not enough money they often go there to get stuff almost for free. Near to the International Office there is a dollar tree that in FIESTA area. Also one is next to Fry ( electronic store) Actually, the price is very good just for decorative stuff such as flowers, vases, clay, frame,... but it is not good for eat. somehow I wonder how can they run the business and sell the items out very cheap, how can they survive? and where is the company that produce the items for them to sell? it is really interesting for me when I first heard there is a one dollar for everything store.because I never seem any store like it in my country and i have never though of buying thing with one dollar. at this store you buy a big shiny ribbon for one buck but in Hobby Lobby the price is higher 5 to 6 time.

School uniform in vietnam

Unlike most of United States schools, schools in Vietnam required all of its students to wear uniform. Ever since elementary, students have to wear uniform to go inside school and get into class. In elementary, students are wearing blue pants and white shirt. And every student has a name tag. The tag must have the school name, also the student’s name, and the current class. The tags are given to the students at the beginning of the school year. And they are given every school year. The tags then sewed onto white shirts. Each student will receive more than one tag for different shirts. In middle school, the uniforms types stay the same. But in middle school, the students are allowed to take a test to join the communist party. After that the students then can use a red scarf to represent their status. The middle school uniforms also become a little more vary although the principle stays as blue pants and white shirt. As the students get into high school, the uniforms will become even more vary. And some high schools will allow their female students to wear long dress as a uniform. The long dress will be white and the pants will also be white. The students will still require sew their name tag onto their dresses. The students are also allowed to wear the other old type of uniform if they like to. And for the male students, they are still wearing the same old type of uniform. In the United States, students are wearing anything they want as long as they follow dress code. In Vietnam, the students have to wear uniform. Although make every one looks similar to each other, but that way has became a traditional that every one likes. Now, every time I walk by a school, seeing every student is wearing uniform, it makes me happy and reminds me of memory I had in school.

How do you greet!!!!

I never find any where else like international office where it has a lot of friends who are from very many countries as Korean, Japan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia,Hong Kong, Thailan, ect. Each country will has one culture and whether it is similar to Viet Nam or not. you know I have met and learnt from them many thing such as how to greeting in Thailan; they put their hands together and make a palm to greeting each other, in korea my friends greet their friends by say An-nyung-ha-se-yo. If they greet older people the way to greet is more formal, they have to bow, deep bow not just a lillte. However, in Saudi Arabia my friends hug, put their cheek together and kiss the air. they do on both side of thier face. Hmm, it does not happen in Viet Nam, people in Viet Nam more informal, they just say hi and if we are really close we do not need to say hi we just padding on shoulder, and ask " how are you?" which is common question in the US. Kissing in Viet Nam which is means a woman and a man have a especial relationship, or just for mother kiss her children. Vietnamese don't use kissing to greet each other as same as Mexico. In Mexico, it have to be one kiss on the cheek but kiss in the air. In some countries aslo kissing for greeting like Mexoco is French, Italia.
The most common greeting in the world is shaking hands. Shaking hand is really popular in many countries especially in business. it makes business man look pro ^^. it is a classical way but it is not backward lagging behind.

First Adventure to The US

This is my first time using blog, but I think Blog is a good idea for every one can share their experiences to each other. So am I ^-^ Since I came here for the first time in the US, I felt very strange, and I was very shy to speak English to American. Furthermore, I just travel by my self, and I had to transfer two planes. I met all strangers and no Vietnamese. Well, it was really hard for me to deal with. I wanted to call my Aunt, but I didn't have any quarter in my pocket. Luckily, I brought with me a quick studying English book, so I opened it and found a sentence that I can ask an American to change with me a dollar into 4 quarters. I asked a seller near by with my quick leanrt English : " Ken ..yiu...hmm help me?, I want ..hmm mmm change wan ...hmm dolas". ^-^ ( that how I spoke), luckily she understood me and gave 4 quarters. Finnally I called my aunt and felt safer. Yeah, that time I thought that I would be lost instead of arrived here. Now my English is getting better so I can go every where in the US.
